The Northern Ireland Medical & Dental Training Agency (NIMDTA) is an Arm’s Length Body sponsored by the Department of Health, dedicated to overseeing and delivering postgraduate education and training for doctors and dentists across Northern Ireland. Located at Beechill House, 42 Beechill Road, Belfast, BT8 7RL, NIMDTA is responsible for recruiting, selecting, and allocating medical and dental professionals to foundation, core, and specialty training programmes. The agency ensures that trainees receive high-quality education and supervision, enabling them to develop the skills necessary to meet the evolving healthcare needs of the population. In addition to initial training, NIMDTA supports the continued professional development of healthcare practitioners, assisting them in maintaining competence and achieving revalidation through structured appraisal systems.
