Dundee Dental Education Centre

The Dundee Dental Education Centre (DDEC) is a premier facility dedicated to advancing dental education and research in the East of Scotland. Established in 2006 through a collaboration between NHS Education for Scotland, NHS Tayside, and the University of Dundee, DDEC is situated within the Frankland Building on the university's city campus. The centre boasts a 38-chair clinical skills laboratory, fully equipped training rooms accommodating up to 90 participants, an IT suite with nine computer workstations, and video conferencing capabilities. DDEC offers a comprehensive range of educational programs, including continuing professional development for the entire dental team, vocational training for newly qualified dentists, hospital training for dental senior house officers, and pre-registration dental nurse training. The centre also supports initiatives like the Scottish Dental Clinical Effectiveness Programme and the Scottish Dental Practice Based Research Network.
